About us
Together with iodine nutrition experts, representatives of the salt, food, and iodine industries, epidemiologists, endocrinologists, communication specialists, research and patient organisations, we work to ensure that all Europeans have access to iodine and prevent the negative consequences and costs of iodine deficiency.

There is a lack of knowledge about the consequences of iodine deficiency among the general public and health authorities, health professionals, food producers, and policymakers. We want to target low awareness of iodine-related health risks and highlight that even mild deficiency has a major impact on population health and the economy.
Our mission
-
To have iodine deficiency recognised as a public health priority in Europe
-
To promote sustainable prevention of iodine deficiency disorders (IDD) and tackle IDD
-
To develop an EU policy framework that harmonises rules on iodised salt and food fortification
